Teitur – All my Mistakes Have Become Masterpieces

…So I had the chance to see this guy (Teitur) this weekend after listening to him for over 10 years which was pretty bad ass. The song here, All of my mistakes have become masterpieces, is one of my favorite songs of all times. To me it comes off as somewhat of a humbling love song to the process of life and finally letting go of our “armor” (defenses, old wounds, judgment, etc.) and gracefully walking in faith. Having the power to let things be. Check it out for yourself.

Who is to say who wins or who loses
I sing to myself at the end of the day
When I know what the blues is
All my mistakes have become masterpieces

I was born in the goodness of grace
Because of faith, because of courage
Because of forgiveness
All my mistakes have become masterpieces

There comes a time
You must stay in the moment
While your heart’s still bleeding

There comes a time
When you must walk away
Though your heart’s still beating

Who is to say who wins or who loses
I sing to myself at the end of the day
When I know what the blues is
All my mistakes have become masterpieces

The beauty of “mistakes” is that unless you knowingly did something stupid or repeat something you deemed as an un-supportive action in the past, chances are you didn’t make a mistake. The situations that will arise from the action/situation (“mistake”) will be able to bear trees of personal and spiritual growth if you have the courage to accept it, let it be and actually embrace it with an open heart as you keep listening for the lessons it had to teach you. The other beautiful thing about a “mistake” is that the for the most part the more it seems to hurt at that particular moment, then the bigger the lessons learned. So the next time you make a “mistake” do what you need to be honest with yourself about it – cry it out and feel the frustration… but at the same time know that if you are willing to do the work, you have the seeds to plant in order to build your masterpiece.

(If you don’t know this guys music yet, you should seriously check it out. All in all his music is simple, beautiful, genuine and amazing… it’s a scientific fact :))
